Floral Water is a herbal distillate resultant from the steam-distillation of essential oils. The condensation water left after the distillation of an essential is filled with the fragrance of the plant that was just distilled with steam. But not only fragrance – the properties of the plant are also absorbed by this water, and thus the water becomes infused by its essence.
Floral water is a flower hydrolat and is intended to be applied to the skin. It shares properties with essential oils but is more suitable for direct use on the skin since it is much less concentrated.
